650.725.1424 Mychal is a California native who joins us for her second year as the Rabbi at Hillel at Stanford. Prior, she served as Associate Director of Jewish Student Life at Hillel of University of California Los Angeles. Rabbi Copeland earned a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and a rabbinical degree from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Adina Danzig Executive Director
650.723.3002 Adina is in her fifth year with Hillel at Stanford after receiving a M.A. in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a Master of Public Administration from New York University, Wagner School of Public Service. Adina studied at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem prior to her graduate studies. A Wexner Fellow and originally from California, Adina completed her B.A. at U.C. Berkeley. 650.723.3098 Orly is the newest member of the Hillel at Stanford team. She excitedly joins Hillel at Stanford as the first ever Israel Fellow. Orly is from Hadera, Israel. She served in the Israeli Defense Force as a Lieutenant of the Infantry Unit. Orly completed her second year of study at Haifa University in Occupational Therapy. Orly enjoys sailing, scuba diving and being outdoors. Rabbi Yaacov Benzaquen Rabbi, Jewish Study Network
Partnership (part-time) 650.796.5840 A founding member of the Jew Study Network team and native of Venezuela, Rabbi Yaacov Benzaquen received his Rabbinic ordination in Israel after graduating from Columbia University's School of Engineering. Scion of an influential Moroccan family, Rabbi Benzaquen continues the tradition as a Sephardic cantor. After being involved in College informal education for many years with the JSN, Rabbi Benzaquen has become JSN's Director for Campus Operations. He is a Part time Rabbi at Hillel at Stanford, and he teaches regularly at Stanford and UC Berkeley. Jonathan Kaplan Development Director
650.723.0913 Jon joined Hillel at Stanford two years ago, focusing on relations with alumni, parents of students, faculty and friends in the larger Jewish community. 650.724.2401Jon graduated in May 2005 from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA with a B.A. in philosophy. While at Muhlenberg, he was a Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Intern, a Resident Advisor, and a Writing Tutor. Jon will be leaving us at the end of the year to attend the Rabbinical School at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Check him out on campus playing trombone in the Stanford Jazz Orchestra. 650.723.3337 Marta Levison joined Hillel at Stanford in the Fall of 2001. She had previously been a public relations professional at hi-tech P.R. agencies and at companies such as Oracle and Sun Microsystems. Marta was a Federation Fellow and sat on the board of the Young Adults Division of The Jewish Federation. She also sat on the board of The Peninsula Jewish Community Center for three years,first as an intern, then as a full member. She obtained a B.A. in communications with an emphasis in P.R. at the University of the Pacific. Maor Shaffin Graduate Student and Israel Program Associate 650.723.4599 Maor Shaffin is the newest member of the Hillel at Stanford team. Maor joins us after completing her MBA in International Business at Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel. Maor also holds a Masters in Global Marketing Communication and Advertising from Emerson College and a B.A. in Business from the University of Judaism. Maor is a fluent Hebrew speaker who enjoys exploring new places and meeting new people.
Pat Waters Director of Operations 650.724.3103 Pat joins Hillel at Stanford bringing with her many years of experience working in industry, service and university settings. In her most recent position she was instrumental in working with contractors to renovate new office space and to later move the company. As office manager she has been responsible for administration, human resources and facilities. |
